The search engine world is dominated by Google, and Microsoft Bing is in a distant second place holding just a fraction of a user base.

Microsoft plans to change that with the introduction of ChatGPT integration to Bing. In case you’re not familiar with it, read our guide on ChatGPT Professional to learn more.

Speaking of which, this feature is now available in a limited preview form to all users, so join us for a new Bing review to learn what it can offer.

How can I use the new Bing with ChatGPT?

Using the new Bing is simple, and you just have to visit the Bing homepage and you should see ChatGPT suggested queries available right below the search bar.

In our initial testing, these features weren’t available, but after changing the Bing region settings to the United States, the problem was resolved.

What can Bing with ChatGPT do?

Once you open Bing, you need to choose one of several available queries. At the moment, it’s not possible to input your queries, due to the nature of the limited preview.

Once your query has been processed by the AI, you’ll get the results in the right pane right next to regular search results.

Of course, it’s possible to copy the entire response if you wish to save it or share it. However, we have to inform you that one of the most important features of ChatGPT isn’t currently available.

You can’t chat with the ChatGPT even though Bing gives you a list of potential responses you can use. This is because this is just a limited preview, and if you want to utilize ChatGPT to the fullest, you have to join the waitlist.

Currently, there are only four queries available from the main page and about 12 more from the Learn more page.

It’s worth mentioning that certain queries use a different layout and they will display the ChatGPT results before the actual search results.

If you use this layout, you’ll notice extra prompts available at your left, and you can use them to generate your story, tweet, summary, code, letter, or joke.

Do keep in mind that you’ll always get the same results, but it’s exciting to see what this feature will be able to do in the future.

Issues with Bing and ChatGPT

We have noticed several issues with this feature, most notably that text isn’t showing properly if it exceeds a certain length. Since there’s no scroll bar available, you can’t see it in its entirety.

The share feature is sometimes available, but it doesn’t work. However, we didn’t find this to be a dealbreaker. In a few instances, we got errors saying that there was a problem with the service, but that’s likely due to a high number of requests.

Bing with ChatGPT sounds like a revolutionary idea, especially if you’re a frequent ChatGPT user. However, since this is an early preview, you can only use predetermined queries.

Chatting features and custom queries aren’t available, and if you want to test them, you’ll have to join the waitlist.

It’s exciting to see that Microsoft is utilizing ChatGPT to enhance its search results, and we can’t wait to get access to all the features.

If you want to learn more about this feature, we suggest reading our ChatGPT vs Google guide and see how it compares to the world’s biggest search engine.
